Kicking off 2024

[00:00:00] Welcome to your 2023 work recap.

[00:00:02] This year, you've been to 127 sync meetings.

[00:00:06] You spent 56 minutes searching for files and almost missed eight deadlines.

[00:00:10] Yipe!

[00:00:11] 2024 can and should sound different.

[00:00:15] With Monday.com, you can work together easily,

[00:00:17] collaborate and share data, files, and updates.

[00:00:20] So all work happens in one place and everyone's on the same page.

[00:00:24] Go to Monday.com or energy and much, much more. My name is Bodie and I am your host. I think that's better. I think it's getting better. I don't think it's quite there, but it's definitely better.

[00:01:42] All right, let's on travel for this show. And I was like, you know what, I'm going to sit CES out this year. I have training the week after CES that I have to attend. And you know, the kids got stuff. And honestly, I don't think it would be worth my

[00:03:01] money, even though CES offered me and probably a billion other people free tickets to mostly to CES and anything fun that comes out of that show. All right, let's go ahead and jump into our EV news. And the first thing we're going to talk about are EV fire trucks. And I put this rundown together. I made my kids dinner. It's Thursday night. I made my kids dinner. And guess these trucks seem to cost around $2 million a piece. And to give you an idea, the truck that we just ordered, I think was $650 or $700,000. And it was a basic truck.

[00:05:40] If we would have got what we actually needed,

[00:05:44] it probably would have cost $1.2 or $1.3 million. fire trucks just in general are always breaking down for a variety of different reasons. Yeah, I don't know. I would like, what I'm saying is, is before I retire, which is in three and a half years, I would like to have one of these trucks at my department and I'd like to drive it, but I doubt that's going to happen. Fisker will partner with dealerships like automobile dealerships to help boost sales. So they're going to do direct to consumer here in the US and Canada, and they're also going to do dealership sales. The dealerships they produce. And Fisker doesn't get paid until they deliver the vehicles, right? Well, it turns out in 2023 Fisker, excuse me, not delivered. Fisker built 10,000 oceans, but they've only delivered 4,700 oceans.

[00:09:42] So they're sitting on a lot of money.

[00:09:44] So this even makes, this news makes even more sense less sold 1.8 million EVs during the same timeframe. So congratulations to BYD. And based on what Bart told us last week, or last episode, excuse me, BYD's building some pretty good cars. So looking forward to seeing what they do in 2024. Let's go ahead and stay on topic with EV sales.

[00:11:01] Let's talk about that in just a moment last week We talked about Chevy pausing to the blazer EV for software issues Chevy issued an official recall because the doors on the vehicle just might open while it's driving no big deal

[00:13:26] got this striker plate and it got an issue it got a recall if you if you are that one person make sure to

[00:13:32] Sell your car with this recall it is memorabilia at this point

[00:13:37] Let's see here. Oh, okay. This is the Chevy Bolt article

[00:13:41] So we mentioned that in 2024 some

[00:13:47] electric vehicles that qualified for,500 tax credit.

[00:15:06] Not too Chevy. From step-by-step guidance to suggested plugins, Bluehost makes WordPress wonderful for everyone. Go to Bluehost.com slash Wunder Suite. Wait. Alright, that wraps up our Eevee news. I have a goal, and it's a pretty reasonable goal, I think.

[00:16:22] My goal is to get one new Patreon subscriber a little bit more before we go too crazy. I have three things to give away. So if we get one person to sign up in January for the Patreon,

[00:17:40] that will trigger a Patreon giveaway that anybody can enter.

[00:17:46] But one person has to sign up. on the infotainment screen, the center screen. So what you do is there's a picture of the Cybertruck and you tap on the graphic window of the Cybertruck. You don't tap on your actual Cybertruck window. You tap on the Cybertruck window that is on the screen, on the infotainment screen. If you tap enough times, the window will break

[00:19:02] similar to how it was hit broke on stage

[00:19:06] during the Cybertruck introduction went out, you're going to be like, I'm going to buy the rear wheel drive. That's going to cost you $38,990. The long range is going to cost you $45,990. The Model 3 performance after the $7,500 tax credit will cost you $43,490.

[00:20:22] Sounds like the Model 3 performance is the much better deal at this point.

[00:20:26] And since we're talking about the Tesla models that qualify, all had a wonderful new year. I hope you all have a wonderful 2024, to be honest with you. Next week, depending on how much CES news comes in, may do more than two shows or we may just do two, we'll kind of see how it goes. I'm not anticipating a lot of EV news coming out of CES, but I could be wrong. If you want to email me, you can, you can go to Bodie, B-O-D-I-E at 918digital.com.
