In this episode, we dive into our special Thanksgiving extravaganza for Kilowatt, the podcast exploring the realms of electric vehicles, renewable energy, and autonomous driving, among other fascinating topics. I am joined by my guests Allison Sheridan, Steve Sheridan, and Sierra LaDuke, and together we engage in a fun and competitive Jeopardy-like trivia game, where knowledge meets laughter. This episode marks our 49th annual Thanksgiving extravaganza, and while the stakes are low, the camaraderie and banter are at an all-time high.

Humor is a key player in this episode, evident in our discussions, where teasing each other becomes an entertaining dynamic. I encouraged a bit of playful trash talk, leading to some uproarious exchanges and an unexpected twist at the end of the game.

This Thanksgiving special is about laughter, competition, and the gratitude we hold for each other and our listeners.

[00:00:21] Hello everyone and welcome to Kilowatt, a podcast about electric vehicles, renewable energy, autonomous driving, and much, much more. My name is Bodhi and I am your host and today we have a whole episode of much, much more. Today is our Thanksgiving extravaganza, which if you don't know, is an episode that I like to do where we just have a little bit of fun. I invited Allison Sheridan, Steve Sheridan, and my oldest, Sierra LeDuc.

[00:00:48] I invited them on and we played a Jeopardy-like game. I don't want to say it's a Jeopardy because, you know, legal reasons, but it was a Jeopardy-like game and we had a lot of fun. I did this last year with Allison Steve and Rob Dunwood. Unfortunately, Rob was very busy being a successful podcaster, so he was not able to join us this year.

[00:01:15] But yeah, I had a lot of fun. I think you're going to have a lot of fun listening and you might be surprised who wins. You might be surprised who wins. It's a nail biter all the way to the end.

[00:01:27] I do want to let you know that you can watch this episode on YouTube and you will not get the ads other than whatever ads that YouTube might serve you, but you won't get the Acast ads that you would normally get. If you want to do that, please still download the episode so I get credits.

[00:01:43] But if you wanted to watch on YouTube, the actual game board is on YouTube so you can see the questions and you can see the categories and all that good stuff.

[00:01:56] And what else? What else? What else? There was something else I was going to... Oh, yeah. I foolishly did not record each individual person on the call. I only recorded the game board.

[00:02:10] So last year what I did is I had me, Allison and Steve and Rob were all on the show and I would clip back and forth between each person and the game board, stuff like that.

[00:02:26] This year, we're not going to do that because I foolishly did not record the actual contestants, only the game board.

[00:02:36] So that's on me. It did make it way easier to edit, though. So there's that.

[00:02:42] All right. I am going to play an ad right here. And then as soon as we come back, we're going to hear some music and we're going to get right in to our Thanksgiving extravaganza.

[00:02:53] I think it's like 49th annual Thanksgiving extravaganza kilowatt episode.

[00:02:58] By the way, if you're a patron, you're not going to hear an ad. You're just going to hear music.

[00:03:02] So cue the ad slash music.

[00:03:33] The Samsung Black Weeks Deals.

[00:03:59] Allianz. Da für dein Leben.

[00:04:19] So, Bodi, you said you've fed information, general information about us into ChatGPT to help develop the questions.

[00:04:25] Uh-huh.

[00:04:25] I want to see that information.

[00:04:27] Oh, it was basic. It was basic. Let me see. I can actually show it.

[00:04:31] No, I'm joking. You can send it to us later.

[00:04:34] Yeah, afterwards.

[00:04:34] Later. Do it later.

[00:04:35] It was like, Steve likes space. He was an electrical engineer. Allison drives a Tesla.

[00:04:42] Oh, and that created the trivia?

[00:04:44] Yeah.

[00:04:46] Huh.

[00:04:46] I put in, you know, I was like, there's an age gap between the contestants and all that stuff.

[00:04:54] I'm only four hours older than him. Come on.

[00:04:55] I don't think that's what he meant.

[00:04:59] You were born on the same day?

[00:05:00] Yes.

[00:05:01] Four hours older. I'm the older woman.

[00:05:04] Damn.

[00:05:06] You were at like freshman orientation, right?

[00:05:10] First day of school.

[00:05:12] Chemistry.

[00:05:13] UC Irvine.

[00:05:13] It was chemistry.

[00:05:15] It was chemistry class?

[00:05:17] Yeah.

[00:05:18] When we figured it out.

[00:05:19] Cam 101. About 300 person lecture hall.

[00:05:21] I picked up what I thought was my registration packet. Back then they put things like your social security number and your birthday on the outside of things.

[00:05:29] And it said my birthday. And Steve said, no, it's mine.

[00:05:31] And I thought it was mine and he thought it was his. And then he shook it down the little cellophane window showed his name, not mine.

[00:05:38] Wow.

[00:05:39] Seven short years later, he married me.

[00:05:42] Wow. That sounds like a story written by AI.

[00:05:45] It does.

[00:05:46] Same birthday.

[00:05:47] It does.

[00:05:48] Chemistry class.

[00:05:50] Exactly.

[00:05:51] Yeah.

[00:05:51] If it had been off one day, there would maybe no Allison and Steve.

[00:05:56] Yeah.

[00:05:57] You ever think about that? The smallest little decisions you make, how they could affect the rest or did affect the rest of your life?

[00:06:04] All the time.

[00:06:05] Yeah.

[00:06:06] It's freaky.

[00:06:08] Yeah.

[00:06:10] Oh, I want to encourage arguing.

[00:06:12] I want to encourage fighting.

[00:06:14] Oh, no.

[00:06:14] Being mean.

[00:06:16] Disrespectful.

[00:06:17] I'm really not comfortable with that.

[00:06:19] Yeah.

[00:06:20] Let's get toxic.

[00:06:21] I'm comfortable with that.

[00:06:22] Sarah, can you compete?

[00:06:23] Can you do it?

[00:06:24] Let's get toxic.

[00:06:24] Yeah.

[00:06:25] You can bring it?

[00:06:25] All right.

[00:06:26] Because I'm not going to bring any actual trivia answers.

[00:06:28] So I have to bring something to the table and it can be toxicity.

[00:06:33] Yeah.

[00:06:33] One time, the last time I think you guys were on with Sierra, I said, I think it would be really funny if you were just super disrespectful to me.

[00:06:39] And then we just ignored how rude you were.

[00:06:42] And you guys are all on.

[00:06:44] And Sierra was like as nice as she always is.

[00:06:46] And I was like, what happened?

[00:06:48] Yeah.

[00:06:49] Come on.

[00:06:49] Don't tease us.

[00:06:51] Because otherwise I just end up looking mean if you're nice.

[00:06:54] That's true.

[00:06:55] That's true.

[00:06:55] If you want to be good.

[00:06:56] It's kind of like a passive aggressive thing.

[00:06:57] My evil plan.

[00:06:59] Sierra's done improv.

[00:07:00] So if you want to be a good scene partner, you have to give shit.

[00:07:05] You have to give someone shit.

[00:07:06] I could not do that.

[00:07:08] Oh, you would?

[00:07:09] That's impressive.

[00:07:10] No, I could not.

[00:07:11] No.

[00:07:12] Brad.

[00:07:13] I'm talking about improv.

[00:07:14] He would literally perish.

[00:07:16] I mean, it would kill him.

[00:07:19] No, the improv class, it was cool because it brought in a lot of people who I think are traditionally kind of shy,

[00:07:25] who would think that you'd never see them on a podcast or you wouldn't like imagine them.

[00:07:30] But then like you work through it and you just embarrass yourself enough times that you just become like immune.

[00:07:35] I swear.

[00:07:37] Cool.

[00:07:39] Highly recommend it.

[00:07:41] All right.

[00:07:43] What's our buzz in rules?

[00:07:45] None?

[00:07:45] Anarchy?

[00:07:46] Let me welcome everybody to the show and then we'll do this.

[00:07:50] Welcome everyone to the 49th Avenue.

[00:07:53] Avenue?

[00:07:54] It's 49th annual.

[00:07:56] 49th annual kilowatt Thanksgiving extravaganza.

[00:08:00] I am on stop, stop, stop.

[00:08:05] I am here with our contestants today.

[00:08:09] I'm going to start with our returning champion, Alison Sheridan.

[00:08:14] Alison, welcome to the show.

[00:08:16] Well, I hope you're looking at the video.

[00:08:18] I'm congratulating myself.

[00:08:19] You should.

[00:08:20] Sierra.

[00:08:21] You're still angry about that.

[00:08:22] Sitting on her hands during this conversation.

[00:08:24] She is not clapping.

[00:08:28] It's a good way to start.

[00:08:30] We have Steve Sheridan.

[00:08:31] And I think Steve, you and Rob tied last year.

[00:08:34] Is that right?

[00:08:34] I think we did.

[00:08:35] In fact, at one point we were all tied until the last question.

[00:08:39] Yeah.

[00:08:40] Yeah.

[00:08:40] It was real close.

[00:08:42] Yeah.

[00:08:42] And then we have Sierra LeDuc.

[00:08:47] Sierra, welcome to the show.

[00:08:49] Woo!

[00:08:50] Thanks for having me.

[00:08:55] Boo.

[00:08:57] Who said that?

[00:08:58] Steve.

[00:09:00] Yeah.

[00:09:02] All right.

[00:09:02] So we are going to play a Jeopardy type game.

[00:09:06] This is not going to be produced like Jeopardy because I don't want to get sued and I don't

[00:09:10] have that much talent.

[00:09:11] So we are going to play a Jeopardy type game.

[00:09:15] I'm just going to lay down some rules.

[00:09:17] First of all, we kind of talked about this before, but it is highly encouraged to be mean

[00:09:21] to your host and to one another because that's what makes the show interesting and fun.

[00:09:26] Make jokes.

[00:09:27] We will all hug it out at the end.

[00:09:30] And then as far as rules go, Jeopardy style rules, you got to answer in the form of a

[00:09:36] question.

[00:09:37] And if you get the answer right, you get points.

[00:09:42] If you get the answer wrong, you lose the same amount of points.

[00:09:46] And then when you are ready to ding in or ring in, you just say your name.

[00:09:52] But I'm going to finish the question because some folks are going to watch this on video.

[00:09:55] Some folks are going to watch this on audio.

[00:09:58] I want everybody to have an opportunity to hear the question.

[00:10:00] But once you chime in with your voice, then I will make sure to call on you first.

[00:10:06] If that person gets the answer wrong, then the other two will have an opportunity to chime in yet

[00:10:12] again with their answer or their voice.

[00:10:15] And then we can go from there.

[00:10:17] Does that make sense?

[00:10:18] What if we have an objection to speaking in the third person?

[00:10:23] Oh.

[00:10:23] Say our own name?

[00:10:25] Yeah.

[00:10:25] Yeah, that sounds weird.

[00:10:27] And Allison has so many more syllables than Steve.

[00:10:30] He's going to get in ahead of us.

[00:10:32] But how do you identify who's saying what?

[00:10:34] All right.

[00:10:34] Well, why don't you guys come up with a one syllable word and that will be your word

[00:10:41] ding in.

[00:10:42] Because you can't all use the same word.

[00:10:43] I think the word is syllable.

[00:10:44] Salable.

[00:10:45] I mean, if you want to go with less syllables than Allison, that's probably not the best

[00:10:49] option.

[00:10:49] I could go with Al.

[00:10:51] Al.

[00:10:51] Al works.

[00:10:52] That's what I call you.

[00:10:53] Tough to be you, Sierra.

[00:10:54] Or C.

[00:10:55] C.

[00:10:56] And I'll be Steve.

[00:10:57] C, Steve, Sal.

[00:10:59] Al.

[00:11:00] Or Sal.

[00:11:01] I'll accept either one.

[00:11:03] Okay.

[00:11:05] Are you guys ready to see the categories?

[00:11:08] Nope.

[00:11:09] I am.

[00:11:11] Here we go.

[00:11:13] First up.

[00:11:15] Green Tech.

[00:11:18] Potpourri.

[00:11:20] Animal Facts.

[00:11:22] Pop Culture.

[00:11:25] And Basic Space.

[00:11:27] So this is something that everybody should be able to answer.

[00:11:33] Now, I'm going to give you a test one.

[00:11:35] This is a pretty good representation of what we have.

[00:11:39] And you just yell it out when you know it.

[00:11:41] In Buddhist philosophy, the Sanskrit term refers to the concept of non-self, the idea that there

[00:11:50] is no unchanging permanent self or soul living in beings.

[00:11:55] What is that term?

[00:11:57] Al.

[00:11:58] What is Mark Zuckerberg?

[00:12:00] That is incorrect.

[00:12:05] Steve.

[00:12:05] Steve.

[00:12:06] Steve, go ahead.

[00:12:06] What is Zen?

[00:12:08] That is incorrect.

[00:12:09] But good guess.

[00:12:10] C.

[00:12:10] What is enlightenment?

[00:12:12] I gave you the answer, Sierra.

[00:12:14] Why are you?

[00:12:15] Is this right?

[00:12:16] I didn't read that.

[00:12:18] I was like, I don't want to do that bit.

[00:12:20] I don't want to do that bit.

[00:12:21] I just –

[00:12:24] All right.

[00:12:25] That was a warm-up, but that was a cheat.

[00:12:27] That was a cheat.

[00:12:28] I texted.

[00:12:28] I didn't want to do the bit.

[00:12:29] I called it off.

[00:12:30] I called it off.

[00:12:32] This may be a long game.

[00:12:36] All right.

[00:12:37] Especially since I'm going to ask every question is, who is Mark Zuckerberg?

[00:12:41] Actually, by the way, Steve and Sierra, neither of you did yours as a question.

[00:12:45] So you're disqualified.

[00:12:47] I was –

[00:12:47] I said, what is Zen?

[00:12:49] Yeah, Steve said, what is Zen.

[00:12:49] Did he?

[00:12:50] Yeah, Sierra didn't.

[00:12:51] Sierra didn't.

[00:12:52] That is her protest.

[00:12:54] Yeah.

[00:12:55] It was.

[00:12:56] It was a protest.

[00:12:57] Wait, so you were going to say, what is or who is?

[00:13:00] Okay.

[00:13:00] I remember now.

[00:13:01] Sorry.

[00:13:01] And what was the answer?

[00:13:04] Anatta.

[00:13:05] A-N-T-T-A.

[00:13:06] Oh, man.

[00:13:06] I would have never gotten that.

[00:13:08] It's going to be a long day, guys.

[00:13:09] Yeah.

[00:13:10] I told ChatGP to give me three impossible-to-answer questions based –

[00:13:15] Was that one of them?

[00:13:17] Yeah, that was one of them.

[00:13:18] Okay, good.

[00:13:20] Trust me.

[00:13:20] The rest of them won't be that hard.

[00:13:21] Okay, good.

[00:13:22] All right.

[00:13:23] I just wanted to set you up for failure.

[00:13:26] All right.

[00:13:26] Thank you.

[00:13:27] I appreciate that, Bodie.

[00:13:28] Or excuse me, Al.

[00:13:30] You are currently the reigning champion, so you get to pick first.

[00:13:35] And do I pick – can I pick any one of the numbers?

[00:13:38] Anywhere you want to go.

[00:13:39] And, by the way, I will let you know, in Jeopardy, these questions get harder.

[00:13:43] But because I did this at 10 o'clock in the morning this morning, put together the board,

[00:13:49] number one could be the hardest question on the board for 100 points.

[00:13:53] Just FYI.

[00:13:54] All right.

[00:13:55] We'll go with Greentech for 500 then.

[00:13:58] Okay.

[00:14:00] This technology allows EVs to recharge wirelessly using electromagnetic fields.

[00:14:05] Steve.

[00:14:05] Steve.

[00:14:06] Go ahead, Steve.

[00:14:07] What is magnetic induction?

[00:14:10] That is correct.

[00:14:13] Or I would have accepted wireless induction or inductive charging.

[00:14:18] Okay.

[00:14:19] Either way.

[00:14:21] But that is correct.

[00:14:24] Okay.

[00:14:25] Steve, you have the board.

[00:14:27] All right.

[00:14:29] Let's go for basic space for 500.

[00:14:34] This galaxy is on a collision course with the Milky Way.

[00:14:37] Go ahead, Steve.

[00:14:38] What is Andromeda?

[00:14:40] That is correct.

[00:14:41] Steve is killing it.

[00:14:42] Wow.

[00:14:43] We're in trouble, Sierra.

[00:14:44] Yeah.

[00:14:46] I'm stuck to my core.

[00:14:47] Okay.

[00:14:48] Rather than just go with my go-tos, I'm going to go to something that I'm not good at.

[00:14:54] Okay.

[00:14:54] Well, actually, I don't know if I'm good at.

[00:14:56] Potpourri for 100.

[00:14:57] All right.

[00:14:58] The question is, this is the largest...

[00:15:01] Steve.

[00:15:03] Go ahead.

[00:15:04] This is the largest ocean on Earth.

[00:15:06] Go ahead, Steve.

[00:15:07] What is the Pacific Ocean?

[00:15:08] That is correct.

[00:15:10] How many oceans are there now, Steve?

[00:15:13] It depends on your definition.

[00:15:14] No, remember they just added one.

[00:15:16] They added that one that's down near Antarctica.

[00:15:19] There's actually like a seventh ocean or I forget the number.

[00:15:22] I thought there was seven.

[00:15:23] Well, then there's eight.

[00:15:25] Oh.

[00:15:25] The seven seas.

[00:15:26] Right now, there are eight.

[00:15:27] All right.

[00:15:29] Am I still...

[00:15:30] Do I still have the board?

[00:15:31] Oh, you absolutely do.

[00:15:32] Let's go for pop culture for 100.

[00:15:36] All right.

[00:15:37] Pop culture for 100.

[00:15:38] Here we go.

[00:15:39] This is my only chance.

[00:15:40] This 1980s arcade game features a yellow circle eating dance in a maze.

[00:15:46] Allison.

[00:15:50] He is also...

[00:15:52] Oh, wait.

[00:15:53] Do we get to steal?

[00:15:54] At what point do you get to steal?

[00:15:57] Probably can.

[00:15:59] Steal it.

[00:16:00] I think she can.

[00:16:00] It was Pac-Man.

[00:16:02] Yes.

[00:16:02] It is Pac-Man.

[00:16:02] That's it.

[00:16:04] Would you have also accepted Pac-Woman?

[00:16:06] Yeah.

[00:16:06] I would have...

[00:16:07] Miss Pac-Man, I would have expected.

[00:16:09] By the way, the Southern Ocean is the newest ocean and it's the fifth ocean.

[00:16:14] What?

[00:16:14] Wait.

[00:16:15] What is it?

[00:16:16] The Southern Ocean.

[00:16:17] Huh.

[00:16:18] It was recognized in 2021.

[00:16:21] Huh.

[00:16:22] Look at that.

[00:16:24] Unless ChatGPT is lying.

[00:16:26] Nope.

[00:16:26] I'm finding it at other sites.

[00:16:27] Eurythmics talk about the seven seas.

[00:16:29] Those aren't oceans.

[00:16:31] So does Sinbad.

[00:16:32] Like Mediterranean Sea?

[00:16:33] Yeah.

[00:16:34] Maybe there are other seas than oceans.

[00:16:37] Maybe I shouldn't.

[00:16:38] Yeah.

[00:16:39] Yeah.

[00:16:39] Caribbean's not a sea.

[00:16:41] Next year should just be all water trivia.

[00:16:45] Hydro trivia.

[00:16:46] All bodies of water.

[00:16:48] Okay.

[00:16:48] I'm going to go with animal facts for 300.

[00:16:51] Animal facts for 300.

[00:16:55] A group of crows is called this ominous term.

[00:16:58] Alice.

[00:16:59] A murder.

[00:17:00] What is a murder?

[00:17:01] Correct.

[00:17:02] Really?

[00:17:03] So here's a question.

[00:17:04] If they don't put it in the form of a question, do they not?

[00:17:07] I say they lose the point.

[00:17:09] Okay.

[00:17:10] So here's how I'm going to do this because I'm already overwhelmed as your host.

[00:17:15] And this is, we're going to play Monopoly rules.

[00:17:17] Like if you landed on somebody's property and they didn't call out that they owe you money,

[00:17:22] we're going to move on.

[00:17:23] So if somebody doesn't answer in the form of a question, somebody, what you guys police each other.

[00:17:29] And okay.

[00:17:30] So that's a legitimate steal if somebody doesn't answer in a question and I call them out.

[00:17:35] Yeah.

[00:17:35] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:17:36] It's not, you would still have to re-ring in for the answer.

[00:17:41] With your name.

[00:17:42] Yeah.

[00:17:42] With, with your, with your moniker, but you.

[00:17:46] Go ahead.

[00:17:47] No, go ahead.

[00:17:48] But you would, would definitely call them out even if they got the answer right.

[00:17:52] But they could have got it wrong.

[00:17:53] Humiliation.

[00:17:55] What's that?

[00:17:56] Maybe just for humiliation purposes.

[00:17:58] Yeah.

[00:17:58] But guess what?

[00:17:59] We learned something awesome in Africa.

[00:18:01] Do you know what a group of zebras is called?

[00:18:03] Oh.

[00:18:03] It's a dazzle of zebras.

[00:18:05] Yeah.

[00:18:05] A dazzle?

[00:18:06] Because they turn their backs toward, their butts towards you and they get all these stripy things

[00:18:10] and the, and the, the lions can't see which ones they can't find a distinct zebra and it

[00:18:15] dazzles them with this, this wiggly lines.

[00:18:18] Wow.

[00:18:19] That's amazing.

[00:18:21] That is fun facts to know and tell.

[00:18:23] And if that pops up as one of the animal facts, I'll be astounded.

[00:18:26] All right.

[00:18:26] I'm going to take the board here.

[00:18:28] Animal facts for 100.

[00:18:29] Animal facts for 100.

[00:18:32] This is the most popular pet in the United States.

[00:18:35] Go ahead.

[00:18:36] Steve?

[00:18:36] Dog.

[00:18:37] That is correct.

[00:18:39] Really?

[00:18:39] I would have thought cat.

[00:18:40] Me too.

[00:18:41] Wait, I'm going to steal.

[00:18:42] He didn't say what is the dog.

[00:18:44] I think she's correct.

[00:18:46] Oh, okay.

[00:18:47] So I didn't say what is dog.

[00:18:49] The board is open.

[00:18:52] Steve?

[00:18:53] What is, what is dog?

[00:18:55] No, he gets it for doing that.

[00:18:58] What do you mean the board's open?

[00:18:59] For me?

[00:19:00] Okay.

[00:19:04] No, no.

[00:19:05] Should I?

[00:19:05] I know she didn't do that if I...

[00:19:07] All right.

[00:19:10] Okay.

[00:19:11] How about this?

[00:19:11] He gets the points, but I get to control the board.

[00:19:14] Okay.

[00:19:15] That's a fair.

[00:19:16] That's a nice way to do it.

[00:19:18] Okay.

[00:19:18] So here's the thing.

[00:19:21] Right now, I'm going to recap the points because not everybody's, again, watching on video.

[00:19:25] Right now, we have Steve in the lead at 1,200 points.

[00:19:29] Allison at 300 and Sierra is at 100.

[00:19:32] Allison has control of the board.

[00:19:34] Allison, go ahead.

[00:19:35] All right.

[00:19:35] We're going to go with green tech for 100.

[00:19:37] Green tech for 100.

[00:19:39] What technology allows electric vehicles to recover energy while braking?

[00:19:44] What is regenerative braking?

[00:19:47] That is correct.

[00:19:51] Got to be fast to beat Steve.

[00:19:54] Yes.

[00:19:54] 100 weak little points there.

[00:19:58] Sierra, I'm glad you came.

[00:19:59] Um, I'll see you.

[00:20:03] You're to spectate.

[00:20:05] Well, when we get to pop culture, I think you should be able to take that one from us.

[00:20:09] I'll take green tech for 200.

[00:20:11] Green tech for two.

[00:20:12] Sierra does own a Tesla.

[00:20:14] She should know some of this stuff.

[00:20:15] I knew the last one.

[00:20:16] I was just still reading it.

[00:20:19] Like my processing time is much slower.

[00:20:22] Gotcha.

[00:20:23] Gotcha.

[00:20:23] Well, we're in the same time zone.

[00:20:24] So there is a delay.

[00:20:25] So I understand.

[00:20:27] Yeah.

[00:20:27] Maybe if we're in California, we would have a leg up.

[00:20:30] We're ahead by.

[00:20:31] Yeah.

[00:20:32] You guys are ahead by an hour.

[00:20:33] So you get the advantage there.

[00:20:34] No, they're behind.

[00:20:35] I think we're behind by an hour.

[00:20:36] So you get the advantage there.

[00:20:39] Green tech for 200, Bodie.

[00:20:41] Green tech for 200.

[00:20:42] This renewable energy technology converts wind into electrical energy.

[00:20:47] See.

[00:20:49] Sierra.

[00:20:50] What is a windmill?

[00:20:56] Do you want to be more specific?

[00:20:59] No.

[00:21:00] Steve.

[00:21:01] No, wait.

[00:21:01] You didn't say she was wrong.

[00:21:04] She's not 100% wrong.

[00:21:06] She's not wrong.

[00:21:07] Well, it's a turbine.

[00:21:09] Of course.

[00:21:11] That was implied.

[00:21:14] I think she gets it.

[00:21:15] Okay.

[00:21:16] Yeah.

[00:21:16] I think she does.

[00:21:17] Kitty points.

[00:21:18] I'll take them.

[00:21:19] I couldn't even think of windmill.

[00:21:22] It was like the answer was already in the question.

[00:21:25] It was.

[00:21:26] Most of the answer was in the question.

[00:21:28] Okay.

[00:21:29] Okay.

[00:21:29] Sierra, you get the points.

[00:21:31] You are in control of the board.

[00:21:33] Okay.

[00:21:34] Let's do pop culture for 400.

[00:21:37] Going hard.

[00:21:38] Pop culture for 400.

[00:21:40] This sitcom featuring six friends in New York ran from 1994 to 2004.

[00:21:46] Allison and, or Sierra and Steve, you were really close.

[00:21:49] I think she beat me barely.

[00:21:51] I'm going to let Allison make the choice.

[00:21:52] I think Sierra.

[00:21:54] Yeah.

[00:21:54] Okay.

[00:21:55] Thank you.

[00:21:55] I'll accept the pity points.

[00:21:56] Again, friends.

[00:21:58] What is friends?

[00:21:59] What is friends?

[00:22:00] Oh, so close.

[00:22:03] Almost took it.

[00:22:05] Again, the answer was in the question.

[00:22:08] Yes.

[00:22:08] Yeah.

[00:22:09] That's twice.

[00:22:09] Now it's confusing.

[00:22:11] He could have said pals.

[00:22:13] No, these are all written by ChatGPT.

[00:22:15] I just verified that they were correct, which probably took as much time as writing the questions

[00:22:19] myself, to be honest with you.

[00:22:22] Sierra, you still have the board.

[00:22:24] Is it potpourri?

[00:22:26] Yeah.

[00:22:26] I don't even know what that is, but I'm going to do that for 300.

[00:22:29] So it means random.

[00:22:32] Oh, okay.

[00:22:33] I thought it was like a smelly thing.

[00:22:35] Steve.

[00:22:36] No, come on.

[00:22:36] You can have the smell of potpourri.

[00:22:39] All right.

[00:22:40] I'm going to read the question.

[00:22:41] And as soon as I'm done with the last word, then you guys can ring in on this.

[00:22:45] By surface area, this is the largest organ of the human body.

[00:22:49] Steve.

[00:22:50] Oh, I think Allison got it in.

[00:22:53] The skin?

[00:22:54] Yes.

[00:22:54] What is the skin?

[00:22:55] Oh.

[00:22:56] Oh.

[00:22:58] That was close.

[00:23:00] Sorry, Steve.

[00:23:01] The next tie, you'll get it.

[00:23:05] That is correct.

[00:23:05] Okay.

[00:23:06] So I'm going to recap the scores here.

[00:23:09] And while I'm doing that, I'm going to check our time as well.

[00:23:12] All right.

[00:23:13] So right now, as we sit, Sierra and Allison are tied at 700 and Steve has stalled at 1200.

[00:23:22] Stalled?

[00:23:23] That is true.

[00:23:25] Started off really strong and then got overly confident with other categories.

[00:23:30] You just sort of wipe space clean and then...

[00:23:32] I probably should have.

[00:23:34] Oh, I have control of the board, don't I?

[00:23:37] You do.

[00:23:38] Hmm.

[00:23:39] Animal facts for 200.

[00:23:41] Animal facts for 200.

[00:23:43] The average lifespan of this domestic fish is 10 to 15 years.

[00:23:46] No.

[00:23:48] Allison.

[00:23:50] Goldfish.

[00:23:51] What is goldfish?

[00:23:53] Ooh, getting close.

[00:23:54] Steve.

[00:23:55] Oh, it is goldfish.

[00:23:56] What are you doing answering, Steve?

[00:23:58] Well, I thought you were wrong.

[00:23:59] I didn't see it.

[00:24:00] I thought I was wrong too.

[00:24:01] Well, when she said, what is goldfish?

[00:24:03] That was the whoa.

[00:24:04] Why did you say close?

[00:24:06] That was the right answer, right?

[00:24:07] Because I didn't say what is.

[00:24:09] Yeah.

[00:24:10] Oh, okay.

[00:24:11] And then I corrected it.

[00:24:12] That's fine.

[00:24:12] That's hard to remember.

[00:24:13] That's a good...

[00:24:14] I'm going to give everybody 100 points because that is my fault.

[00:24:18] All right.

[00:24:19] What?

[00:24:20] Okay.

[00:24:21] I get the 100 points.

[00:24:21] Yeah, everybody gets 100 points.

[00:24:22] I thought you were only giving it to them.

[00:24:24] It's a way of me to give you a token of my shame, but it doesn't change the game.

[00:24:32] All right.

[00:24:32] I'm going to get risky here and go for basic space for 100.

[00:24:36] Basic space for 100.

[00:24:39] This is the name of the galaxy that contains our solar system.

[00:24:44] Allison.

[00:24:45] The Milky Way.

[00:24:47] What is the Milky Way?

[00:24:49] Oh.

[00:24:50] I'm going to...

[00:24:51] Steve got the what is in there.

[00:24:54] What?

[00:24:54] Yeah, that just means he controls the board, though.

[00:24:56] That does mean he controls the board.

[00:24:59] Right.

[00:24:59] Sadly, you lose 100 points.

[00:25:01] Wait.

[00:25:02] Why do I lose 100 points?

[00:25:03] Oh, no.

[00:25:04] We're not doing that.

[00:25:05] Never mind.

[00:25:05] No.

[00:25:05] I just lose control of the board and I get the 100 points.

[00:25:08] Yes, that's correct.

[00:25:10] See, this is why it's really important to have a meeting before we do this.

[00:25:15] Wait.

[00:25:16] Where's the 100 points still sitting?

[00:25:18] Hang on.

[00:25:18] No, I gave you 100 points.

[00:25:19] I know, but it's still sitting in the kitty there.

[00:25:22] You gave it to me the weird way.

[00:25:23] Now you're going to give me 200 if you do it that way.

[00:25:25] I'll still do it this way and then I'll just take one away because I have control of

[00:25:29] the board.

[00:25:29] Okay.

[00:25:30] So at 1100...

[00:25:31] Did I have 1100 when I started?

[00:25:33] You had 1000.

[00:25:34] I had 1000.

[00:25:35] Then he gave me 900.

[00:25:36] Then he gave me 1100.

[00:25:37] Then he gave me 1200.

[00:25:38] Then he gave me 1100.

[00:25:39] For anybody who's not watching the board.

[00:25:40] Yes.

[00:25:41] This is the practice round.

[00:25:42] We're right?

[00:25:42] Off my medications.

[00:25:43] Yeah.

[00:25:44] This is the practice round.

[00:25:44] Off my medications.

[00:25:46] All right.

[00:25:47] So now we're going to go ahead and we are going to just real quick, we're going to dip into

[00:25:54] the scores.

[00:25:55] Let everybody know where we're at.

[00:25:57] Steve's sitting at 1300.

[00:25:58] Allison is tracking up at 1100.

[00:26:01] And Sierra currently has 800.

[00:26:03] Allison...

[00:26:04] No, Steve's in control of the board.

[00:26:06] All right.

[00:26:06] Let's go for 400 for basic space.

[00:26:11] 400 basic space.

[00:26:13] This term describes the path of a celestial body as it moves around another.

[00:26:18] Go ahead, Steve.

[00:26:19] What is an orbit?

[00:26:20] That is correct.

[00:26:21] I knew that one.

[00:26:22] Wow.

[00:26:23] I did not.

[00:26:27] You normally can't read that quickly, Steve.

[00:26:29] I don't know what you're doing.

[00:26:31] All right.

[00:26:32] Let's continue on.

[00:26:33] Basic space for 300.

[00:26:35] Basic space for 300.

[00:26:38] Known as the morning star or evening star, this planet shines brightly...

[00:26:41] What is Steve?

[00:26:42] Steve in our sky.

[00:26:43] What is Steve?

[00:26:47] Go ahead.

[00:26:48] What is Steve?

[00:26:48] Wow.

[00:26:49] Let's go with Venus.

[00:26:51] What is Venus?

[00:26:52] What is Venus?

[00:26:53] That is correct.

[00:26:55] I knew that one.

[00:26:56] Wow.

[00:26:57] What is Steve?

[00:26:59] I think you should lose 100 points for that, Bodhi.

[00:27:01] What is Steve?

[00:27:02] I can't.

[00:27:03] That's entertaining.

[00:27:05] All right.

[00:27:06] I want to encourage that behavior.

[00:27:07] Do I still have control?

[00:27:08] You do.

[00:27:09] Barely.

[00:27:10] I'm going to switch over to Green Tech for 300.

[00:27:14] Green Tech for 300.

[00:27:16] Here we go.

[00:27:16] This country installed the first electricity generating wind turbine in 1887.

[00:27:22] Allison.

[00:27:22] I'm going to go with what is Ireland just because Bart's dad installs wind turbines in Ireland.

[00:27:28] That is a really good answer, but it is incorrect.

[00:27:31] Steve.

[00:27:33] Go ahead, Steve.

[00:27:34] What is Denmark?

[00:27:36] No.

[00:27:37] Wait.

[00:27:38] Sierra.

[00:27:39] Sierra.

[00:27:40] Sierra.

[00:27:40] Sierra.

[00:27:40] Call it.

[00:27:40] What is Scotland?

[00:27:42] Obviously.

[00:27:42] So she gets the points because he showed it.

[00:27:46] Yeah.

[00:27:46] Yeah.

[00:27:46] Sierra gets the points.

[00:27:48] Sometimes patience really pays off, you know?

[00:27:50] Yeah.

[00:27:51] We jumped the gun.

[00:27:52] No.

[00:27:53] I didn't actually get that.

[00:27:55] Yes, you should.

[00:27:57] What did you just take points away from me for?

[00:27:59] Because we got them wrong.

[00:28:02] Oh, are you sure you want me to have those?

[00:28:04] Oh, man.

[00:28:04] I'm going to quit guessing.

[00:28:06] I forgot that rule.

[00:28:08] It's a jeopardy rule.

[00:28:09] You've never been wrong before.

[00:28:10] Scotland is the answer.

[00:28:12] And a gentleman with a very Scottish last name that I don't remember actually ended up doing that.

[00:28:18] Hmm.

[00:28:19] But Ireland.

[00:28:19] I have to do Scottish accents for the rest of the podcast.

[00:28:23] Oh, boy.

[00:28:24] I don't need the emails for doing that.

[00:28:29] All right.

[00:28:31] Sierra controls the board.

[00:28:33] She does.

[00:28:34] Yeah.

[00:28:34] I really shouldn't have gotten those last points, though.

[00:28:37] Yeah.

[00:28:37] Yeah.

[00:28:39] Okay.

[00:28:39] I'm going to go Pop Culture 500.

[00:28:43] Here we go.

[00:28:43] Pop Culture 500.

[00:28:45] She released the visual album Lemonade in 2016.

[00:28:51] Acclaimed for its exploration of race and feminism.

[00:28:55] Who is Beyonce?

[00:28:57] Beyonce is correct.

[00:28:59] Yes.

[00:28:59] Glad I didn't try that one.

[00:29:01] Yeah.

[00:29:02] I don't even think I can spell Beyonce.

[00:29:05] It's B-E-Y-O-N-C.

[00:29:08] Little thing over the E.

[00:29:10] Accenture you is what that's called.

[00:29:13] Accenture you.

[00:29:14] Accenture you.

[00:29:17] It's like an acute angle.

[00:29:20] Accenture.

[00:29:20] Accenture.

[00:29:21] Accenture.

[00:29:22] Accenture.

[00:29:22] Accenture.

[00:29:22] From geometry.

[00:29:24] Oh.

[00:29:24] Except that's not what it means.

[00:29:26] That's just how I remember it.

[00:29:27] It's French.

[00:29:28] Too bad grammatical terms isn't a category on the board.

[00:29:31] Yeah.

[00:29:32] It'd be very hard to do since I don't have very good grammar.

[00:29:36] All right.

[00:29:37] So we're just going to recap the scores here.

[00:29:39] Steve is at 1700.

[00:29:41] Sierra, in an amazing twist of non-family cheating, is at 1700.

[00:29:48] So this is just regular cheating?

[00:29:50] Yeah.

[00:29:52] Allison's in the pooper at 800.

[00:29:54] Yeah.

[00:29:55] But there's still plenty of category or plenty of questions on the board.

[00:30:00] And we have all five of our categories still live.

[00:30:04] So, Sierra.

[00:30:06] Let's go potpourri for 400.

[00:30:12] Known for painting the Mona Lisa, he was a true renaissance man.

[00:30:16] Who is Da Vinci?

[00:30:19] That is correct.

[00:30:21] Woo!

[00:30:22] Well done.

[00:30:22] I got it like eight seconds after you said it.

[00:30:25] Does that count for anything?

[00:30:27] She pulls into the lead.

[00:30:29] Yes.

[00:30:29] Sierra's in the lead at 2,000.

[00:30:31] This is very unexpected turn of events.

[00:30:33] Huge.

[00:30:33] I only gave her the one answer.

[00:30:34] I did not give her any of the other ones, as you can tell.

[00:30:38] Sierra, you have the board.

[00:30:40] Let's do animal facts for 500.

[00:30:44] All right.

[00:30:45] Going hard.

[00:30:46] These marine creatures have three hearts and blue blood.

[00:30:56] See.

[00:30:57] What is octopus?

[00:30:59] That is correct.

[00:31:00] Dang.

[00:31:01] Yeah, but I was going to guess that, but I was afraid of losing 500 points.

[00:31:04] My goodness.

[00:31:04] Well done.

[00:31:05] Shoot.

[00:31:05] I played chicken.

[00:31:07] Yeah.

[00:31:07] No octopus.

[00:31:08] I had nothing to lose at being in the last place.

[00:31:11] I just heard that about octopus having blue blood.

[00:31:15] Steve, were you telling us about them having brains out in the tentacles just yesterday?

[00:31:20] Sub brains at each of their eight tentacles, which feed into the main brain in the body.

[00:31:24] Huh.

[00:31:25] So the tentacles can operate to some extent with some intelligence rudimentary.

[00:31:30] Steve saw that on an article he didn't read or double check the source, by the way.

[00:31:35] I believe it.

[00:31:36] I mean, they're really bright.

[00:31:39] That's one marine animal.

[00:31:41] And listen, I don't like fish, so it's not that hard of a thing to do.

[00:31:44] But that's definitely one marine animal that I will not eat is an octopus because they're

[00:31:48] really smart.

[00:31:48] They're chewy anyway.

[00:31:50] They are chewy.

[00:31:50] I have eaten tentacle in the past.

[00:31:53] Oh, tentacles.

[00:31:54] Okay.

[00:31:55] They grow those back, right?

[00:31:56] I don't think this one grew it.

[00:31:57] Just chop them off, eat them, let them grow.

[00:31:59] I'm going to guess that this one didn't grow it back.

[00:32:02] Also, hey, I'm going to give you a TV recommendation if you haven't seen it.

[00:32:05] It's on Netflix.

[00:32:06] It's called Resident Alien.

[00:32:08] Oh, it's a great show.

[00:32:09] Oh, it's so good.

[00:32:09] And the octopus is hilarious in that.

[00:32:11] Nathan Fillion.

[00:32:13] Yeah.

[00:32:14] So good.

[00:32:15] Wait, the octopus is played by Nathan Fillion?

[00:32:17] Uh-huh.

[00:32:17] I did not recognize his voice.

[00:32:20] That's so funny.

[00:32:21] Yeah.

[00:32:21] Yeah.

[00:32:22] All right.

[00:32:24] Sierra has 2,500 points.

[00:32:26] Steve's 1,700 and Allison has 800.

[00:32:30] Sierra.

[00:32:30] Allison, thanks for coming.

[00:32:34] Sierra, you have the board.

[00:32:37] Oh, let's see.

[00:32:39] Let's finish Animal Facts for 400.

[00:32:42] Animal Facts for 400.

[00:32:45] This Flemish giant is a breed of this domestic animal.

[00:32:57] Boop, boop, boop.

[00:32:59] The answer is the rabbit.

[00:33:02] What?

[00:33:03] What?

[00:33:03] Yeah.

[00:33:04] It's a giant?

[00:33:05] Well, I don't think it's a giant.

[00:33:07] The breed is Flemish giant.

[00:33:10] What?

[00:33:11] Oh, I see.

[00:33:12] I was...

[00:33:13] Okay.

[00:33:13] Gotcha.

[00:33:14] What?

[00:33:15] A Flemish giant rabbit.

[00:33:16] It's a type of rabbit.

[00:33:17] A type of rabbit.

[00:33:18] Yes.

[00:33:18] Oh, Lordy.

[00:33:19] Look it up.

[00:33:19] They're massive.

[00:33:20] They're like this big.

[00:33:22] Yeah, I thought about putting a picture in.

[00:33:25] But again, if it's not...

[00:33:28] Wow.

[00:33:28] If you're not seeing it on video, it's not really video friendly.

[00:33:32] Oh, wow.

[00:33:33] So, Bodhi gets 400 points?

[00:33:35] Yeah, I'll take that.

[00:33:38] All right.

[00:33:39] We cleared out Animal Facts.

[00:33:40] We currently have plenty of green tech, potpourri, pop culture, and one more basic space.

[00:33:46] Sierra, where would you like to go?

[00:33:48] Let's go to basic space for 200.

[00:33:53] Oof.

[00:33:53] Very brave.

[00:33:54] Risky.

[00:33:55] You commanded the board, and then you let it go.

[00:33:57] Here we go.

[00:33:57] Yeah.

[00:33:58] I don't know that.

[00:33:59] I do.

[00:34:00] Earth's closest neighbor in Pace is this celestial body.

[00:34:04] I assume you meant space?

[00:34:06] Yeah, that's...

[00:34:07] I mean, I would guess that's what I meant.

[00:34:10] All right.

[00:34:11] Steve, I said Steve, right?

[00:34:13] Yes, you did.

[00:34:13] You said, what is Steve?

[00:34:15] What?

[00:34:15] Okay.

[00:34:16] What is the moon?

[00:34:18] That is correct.

[00:34:20] Oh, that's tricky.

[00:34:21] I'm glad I didn't answer.

[00:34:22] I almost said Venus, but that would have been wrong.

[00:34:25] We already had a Venus question.

[00:34:26] Is it Mars closer than Venus?

[00:34:27] No.

[00:34:28] Really?

[00:34:29] Venus is closer much.

[00:34:30] Yeah.

[00:34:31] Huh.

[00:34:31] Well, I would have been wrong twice.

[00:34:33] All right.

[00:34:34] Do I conclude?

[00:34:35] There's not enough points on the board for me to win, so I'm just going to start giving

[00:34:38] my Mark Zuckerberg answer every time.

[00:34:40] No, there's enough...

[00:34:41] Well, I mean...

[00:34:42] Not to be in Sierra.

[00:34:43] If they get answers wrong, you still have opportunities to win.

[00:34:46] Right.

[00:34:47] Okay, Sierra, take a dive for me.

[00:34:49] Oh, yeah.

[00:34:50] Easily.

[00:34:51] All right.

[00:34:52] I'm going to go for Green Tech for 400.

[00:34:55] Green Tech for 400.

[00:34:57] This element is the main material used in traditional solar panels.

[00:35:06] I don't know.

[00:35:07] Oh, we should know that.

[00:35:09] I don't want to risk that.

[00:35:12] Well, you can't beat her without some risk, Steve.

[00:35:16] Steve.

[00:35:17] She's got coated.

[00:35:18] Oh, go ahead.

[00:35:20] What is silicon?

[00:35:21] Oh, look at that.

[00:35:23] Woody's right.

[00:35:24] Oh, good job, Steve.

[00:35:27] Damn.

[00:35:27] I didn't think of silicon.

[00:35:28] That's it.

[00:35:29] Yeah.

[00:35:30] Ooh, 2,500, 2,300.

[00:35:32] Thank you for coming, Allison.

[00:35:34] 1,800.

[00:35:37] All right, Steve.

[00:35:38] Oh, pop culture is Sierra's category.

[00:35:41] So I'm going to go with potpourri for 500.

[00:35:45] 500.

[00:35:46] Here we go.

[00:35:47] This language is the most spoken native language in the world.

[00:35:51] Go ahead, Steve.

[00:35:57] Oh, shoot.

[00:35:59] Maybe I shouldn't have said this.

[00:36:01] What is Chinese?

[00:36:05] Can you be more specific?

[00:36:07] Mandarin Chinese?

[00:36:09] What is?

[00:36:10] There you go.

[00:36:10] No way, Steve.

[00:36:12] Good job.

[00:36:13] I was sure you were going to say English.

[00:36:15] Yeah, I would have said that.

[00:36:17] Like an idiot.

[00:36:18] Like an American idiot.

[00:36:19] It was the native that was the tip.

[00:36:23] I can't believe you made him go for Mandarin.

[00:36:25] Wow.

[00:36:26] Yeah.

[00:36:28] We're all trying to help each other out here.

[00:36:30] The game is really on here.

[00:36:32] Plus, we've had to host Steve twice.

[00:36:35] Go ahead.

[00:36:36] Yeah, you want to do a score update?

[00:36:38] Oh, yeah.

[00:36:38] That's a good idea.

[00:36:40] Steve took the lead recently at 2,800 points with Mandarin Chinese.

[00:36:43] Sierra is still sitting at 2,500.

[00:36:45] And Allison has a very hopeful and encouraging 800.

[00:36:50] Thank you for coming.

[00:36:51] Where if you can do math, there's only 700 points left on the board.

[00:36:54] But they can't lose to me now.

[00:36:58] But you could get over 1,000.

[00:37:01] I mean, we have to make tiny goals in order to be successful.

[00:37:04] You don't have to be the best person on the board.

[00:37:06] You just have to be the best Allison you can be.

[00:37:10] Oh, you should be a life coach.

[00:37:12] All right.

[00:37:13] Let's finish off potpourri for 200, Bodhi.

[00:37:17] Okay, potpourri.

[00:37:18] Here we go.

[00:37:19] Al.

[00:37:21] These bean-shaped organs are responsible for filtering blood in the human body.

[00:37:25] Allison.

[00:37:27] What is the kidney?

[00:37:29] That is correct.

[00:37:30] I actually did that just so I could say who is Mark Zuckerberg.

[00:37:34] Nothing to do with the answer.

[00:37:36] I was wondering how you got it.

[00:37:37] You said that so quickly because the question wasn't, I have nothing to risk by always buzzing in first.

[00:37:45] Allison, you currently have 1,000 points.

[00:37:48] See, I'm the best Allison I can be.

[00:37:50] Yes.

[00:37:50] Because of that laptop.

[00:37:51] Now, Allison, you just need to decide how you want to align yourself.

[00:37:54] Do you align yourself to Sierra's side and sabotage Steve or do you sabotage Sierra?

[00:38:00] That's how you play this game and still win.

[00:38:03] I will always align with the woman.

[00:38:06] All right.

[00:38:07] Girls in STEM.

[00:38:08] Let's go.

[00:38:09] Sierra would not have overlined with you, but that's fine.

[00:38:12] I would have.

[00:38:13] But it's only pop culture.

[00:38:15] Yes.

[00:38:18] So who's.

[00:38:19] I hope one of the answers is Mark Zuckerberg.

[00:38:21] It is not.

[00:38:22] That would be funny.

[00:38:25] Manifested.

[00:38:28] Talk about a life coach.

[00:38:30] Manifested.

[00:38:31] Yeah.

[00:38:33] Your choice, Al.

[00:38:35] Oh.

[00:38:35] Oh.

[00:38:37] Oh, geez.

[00:38:39] I'm going to go pop culture for 300.

[00:38:41] Here we go.

[00:38:43] Featuring characters like Pikachu.

[00:38:45] This video game franchise slogan is gotta catch them all.

[00:38:49] Sierra.

[00:38:49] Who is Pokemon?

[00:38:51] Woo.

[00:38:52] Yeah.

[00:38:54] Woo.

[00:38:54] That ties us up.

[00:38:55] Woo.

[00:38:55] This is so close.

[00:38:57] Oh my goodness.

[00:38:58] What a nail vider.

[00:38:59] Look at this.

[00:39:01] All right.

[00:39:02] And we're in your category.

[00:39:04] So just in case.

[00:39:04] Give me the scores.

[00:39:05] I will.

[00:39:05] I will.

[00:39:06] I'm recapping here.

[00:39:07] Just in case.

[00:39:08] I'm the host, Allison.

[00:39:10] Just in case.

[00:39:11] Are you though?

[00:39:11] You're not watching on video.

[00:39:12] No, I'm not.

[00:39:13] You're not watching on video.

[00:39:15] Here's how the scores lay out.

[00:39:17] Sierra just tied Steve with 2,800 points.

[00:39:20] And Allison is currently sitting at 1,000, but is rooting for Sierra.

[00:39:25] The last and final question is a pop culture question at 200 points.

[00:39:33] So the way this plays out is somebody answers it and gets it right.

[00:39:37] Or somebody answers it and gets it wrong.

[00:39:38] And the other person just lets it lie.

[00:39:41] You don't have to answer.

[00:39:42] Oh, don't.

[00:39:43] Don't give them the weak way out.

[00:39:45] That is the weak way out.

[00:39:46] Yeah.

[00:39:47] We're not going to be cowards here.

[00:39:48] Yeah.

[00:39:50] But if you want to win and be a coward, that's how you would do it.

[00:39:54] Good.

[00:39:54] Yeah.

[00:39:54] So he's saying, let's say Sierra buzzes in, gets it wrong.

[00:39:58] She'll drop to 2,600.

[00:39:59] If you don't know for sure, you could risk it and tie for first place.

[00:40:04] But if you just let it ride like a big baby.

[00:40:06] Yeah.

[00:40:07] I'm with you.

[00:40:08] No way.

[00:40:08] You've got to answer.

[00:40:09] Pop culture is not my category.

[00:40:11] Sure.

[00:40:12] We're not going to judge your character from this at all.

[00:40:16] It's all it says.

[00:40:17] Okay.

[00:40:18] All right.

[00:40:18] Are we ready?

[00:40:21] Here we go.

[00:40:21] We weren't ready.

[00:40:23] She released this hit song, Bad Romance, in 2009.

[00:40:27] Who is Lady Gaga?

[00:40:29] That is correct.

[00:40:30] That is right.

[00:40:31] Oh, I would have never known that.

[00:40:33] That is very good.

[00:40:33] Woo!

[00:40:34] Good job.

[00:40:35] Thank you.

[00:40:36] Thank you.

[00:40:37] Well done, Sierra.

[00:40:37] This is a very unexpected victory.

[00:40:40] Super unexpected.

[00:40:41] Never could have seen this coming, honestly.

[00:40:44] Thank you.

[00:40:44] She is the champ.

[00:40:45] If I had to lose to somebody, I'm just glad it wasn't Steve.

[00:40:48] Yes.

[00:40:49] That's what I'm here for.

[00:40:50] I would lord it over her for days.

[00:40:53] Like I did last year.

[00:40:54] Yes.

[00:40:55] He was so mad.

[00:40:57] I think I won on a technicality or a gift from Bodie.

[00:41:00] I think Rob helped you out more than anything, and Steve just agreed with Rob, if I remember

[00:41:05] how it turned out.

[00:41:06] Yeah.

[00:41:07] Okay.

[00:41:08] And I did get those 300 points for Scotland.

[00:41:11] Actually, it was 600.

[00:41:13] It was 600?

[00:41:14] I think so.

[00:41:15] No, it couldn't have been.

[00:41:15] It was only 300.

[00:41:16] Oh, was it?

[00:41:17] Oh, there is no 600.

[00:41:18] I gave everybody an extra 100 points for my stupidity.

[00:41:21] But in the grand tradition of Thanksgiving, I would really like it if Allison and Steve

[00:41:28] gave a concession speech and Sierra gave a victory speech.

[00:41:34] It doesn't have to be long.

[00:41:35] Well, I'll go first then.

[00:41:37] Mark Zuckerberg.

[00:41:38] I'm thankful that Sierra was here to grasp victory from Steve's hands at the very last

[00:41:44] moment.

[00:41:44] And I'm impressed with your knowledge of pop culture and even some animal facts.

[00:41:49] That was impressive work.

[00:41:51] Oh.

[00:41:51] Thank you so much.

[00:41:52] That is very big of you, Allison.

[00:41:55] Steve, would you like to take the low road?

[00:41:57] Yeah.

[00:41:58] Sierra, that was a fantastic performance.

[00:42:00] You did pull it out at the end and just slip the rug out from under me.

[00:42:04] But I am a little bit surprised that you were able to do that given who your father is.

[00:42:12] Burn!

[00:42:13] How's that for us?

[00:42:14] That's good.

[00:42:15] That's good.

[00:42:16] I was like, oh, he's going weak.

[00:42:17] But no, no, he came in strong.

[00:42:19] Wait, I would like to applaud Steve because he doesn't ever do things like that.

[00:42:23] That's the meanest thing I've ever heard Steve say.

[00:42:25] Yeah?

[00:42:28] Publicly.

[00:42:29] That was awesome.

[00:42:31] Sierra, what's your ungrateful speech going to be?

[00:42:34] I would just like to say I really had zero confidence coming into this.

[00:42:39] And I really, it was the great vibes that you guys set that really made me believe in myself

[00:42:47] and say the first syllable of my name, even when I wasn't always sure if I knew the answer.

[00:42:52] And so it's because of the supportive environment that I feel like I was really able to pull out

[00:42:57] this victory.

[00:42:57] So thank you for playing.

[00:43:00] Thank you for having me.

[00:43:01] And happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.

[00:43:05] I do think the greatest quote from the whole session, though, was,

[00:43:08] who is Steve?

[00:43:09] Who is Steve?

[00:43:11] That's true.

[00:43:12] I think it was what is.

[00:43:13] What is Steve?

[00:43:15] What is Steve?

[00:43:15] Maybe that's a show title.

[00:43:17] Yeah.

[00:43:19] And it's going to be a question.

[00:43:21] What is Steve?

[00:43:23] Thank you to our wonderful host, Bodie.

[00:43:25] Oh, yeah, Bodie.

[00:43:26] Well done.

[00:43:26] And a big improvement over last year.

[00:43:28] Oh, thanks.

[00:43:29] I thought this was just as much of a disaster.

[00:43:31] No, no.

[00:43:31] I think it was much better.

[00:43:34] Are you saying it was better without Rob?

[00:43:36] No, no, no, no.

[00:43:39] I'm going to talk to Rob on Wednesday.

[00:43:40] I'll let him know.

[00:43:42] Yeah.

[00:43:43] There's a toxicity.

[00:43:44] We have.

[00:43:45] There we go.

[00:43:45] The end.

[00:43:46] Love it.

[00:43:46] The way that you folks get paid for this show is in reviews and also for your shows and also Sierra gets to eat dinner for free tomorrow.

[00:43:57] But plugs.

[00:43:59] So we'll start with Allison.

[00:44:00] Allison, what would you like to plug?

[00:44:01] Well, everything good starts at podfeet.com.

[00:44:04] You can find my flagship podcast, The No Silicast, which is now the longest running Apple podcast.

[00:44:11] Adam Christensen retired the Mac cast.

[00:44:13] And I've now.

[00:44:14] So now I am the longest running.

[00:44:15] I was second longest forever.

[00:44:17] And anyway, you can find that show there along with Taming the Terminal and Programming by Stealth and Chitchat Across the Pond, my four shows that are up there.

[00:44:25] And subscribe in your podcatcher of choice.

[00:44:28] How many years?

[00:44:29] 19 and a half.

[00:44:31] And haven't missed a week.

[00:44:33] Yeah.

[00:44:34] The show comes out every single week.

[00:44:35] Are you kidding me?

[00:44:36] No.

[00:44:37] Even when I lost my voice twice, I had AI do the show.

[00:44:42] I had it read my scripts.

[00:44:44] That's so cool.

[00:44:44] And when I'm on vacation, other people take over the show and run it for me.

[00:44:48] So it's not without a lot of help from my friends.

[00:44:51] But yeah, 19 and a half years.

[00:44:53] Yeah.

[00:44:53] So if you need a show over Christmas or Thanksgiving, I will not be running reruns.

[00:44:56] There's no reruns.

[00:44:57] Same.

[00:44:58] Wow.

[00:44:58] I don't do that either.

[00:45:00] Good.

[00:45:01] Steve, you host my favorite nature channel.

[00:45:04] I would like you to do voiceovers because it is like all of the video that you got when you were in Africa.

[00:45:12] I really enjoy catching up on that on your YouTube channel.

[00:45:15] Do you want to plug your YouTube channel?

[00:45:17] Sure.

[00:45:18] It is dominated recently by African videos, wild animals from our trip.

[00:45:25] But I also do a lot of space and drone and astronomy type of things.

[00:45:32] And you can find me at Steve Sheridan on YouTube.

[00:45:37] Or SP Sheridan.

[00:45:37] No, it's SP Sheridan.

[00:45:38] I was going to say, I thought it was SP Sheridan.

[00:45:40] But I think both will find it.

[00:45:42] But SP is probably better.

[00:45:42] Only Good has SP Sheridan in it.

[00:45:44] That's true.

[00:45:45] They are really, really good.

[00:45:46] They're short.

[00:45:47] They're little bite-sized things.

[00:45:48] You want to see some lions eating a kudu?

[00:45:51] That's the channel you want to go to.

[00:45:52] You don't have to watch 20 minutes to get up to that point.

[00:45:55] You just get right into the gore.

[00:45:57] It's a good one.

[00:45:58] And they really get into that.

[00:45:59] They're just, there's no shame.

[00:46:02] They really get in there.

[00:46:04] Well, there shouldn't be, right?

[00:46:06] But he's got nice ones, too.

[00:46:07] He's got cute little ones.

[00:46:08] And it's not all gore.

[00:46:11] But the gore one does seem to be the most popular.

[00:46:13] I will plug my latest video just a couple days ago.

[00:46:17] It was unrelated to this.

[00:46:18] It's a high-altitude balloon launch conducted by Compton Community College.

[00:46:24] And so I got the video of the launch from several aspects, including from my drone as the balloon rose.

[00:46:31] Video from the balloon itself when it was over 40,000 feet.

[00:46:36] And then the video gave out when it burst, when the balloon burst before that.

[00:46:42] So that's usually a really cool video.

[00:46:43] I didn't get that.

[00:46:44] But we got some photos of the landing spot.

[00:46:47] Oh, that's cool.

[00:46:48] That's cool.

[00:46:49] What were they testing?

[00:46:49] Or was it just...

[00:46:52] Basically, they just send up payloads that have sensors like pressure, humidity, temperature, and that type of thing.

[00:47:05] Simplistic sensors.

[00:47:07] But they're just testing how well these sensors work at higher altitude.

[00:47:11] The balloon did not get as high as it should have.

[00:47:14] Sometimes they can get over 100,000 feet.

[00:47:16] Wow.

[00:47:16] Dang.

[00:47:17] Which is technically, you're starting to get into space and you start to see the curvature and darkness above, that type of thing.

[00:47:24] Not quite space, but just...

[00:47:25] Darkness?

[00:47:26] I think you're making that part up.

[00:47:27] No, darker.

[00:47:28] Not black, but darker than you would normally see.

[00:47:31] Yeah.

[00:47:32] The typical edges of the Earth type pictures we see.

[00:47:36] This didn't achieve that.

[00:47:37] This was 42,000.

[00:47:39] So it didn't...

[00:47:39] That's like an airliner, really high airliner flight.

[00:47:42] Sure.

[00:47:43] But you also do have one really cool slow-mo video of some hummingbirds that he just posted.

[00:47:48] And those are also not Africa, but it is the nature channel.

[00:47:51] And the cool thing is when he slows it down, the audio slows down and you can hear the bird's wings flapping.

[00:47:58] Oh, wow.

[00:47:59] But it's a high frequency, which is weird because when you slow things down, you know, your audio gets lower frequency.

[00:48:05] So this means it was so high we couldn't hear it.

[00:48:08] It comes down into the audible range and it's really interesting.

[00:48:12] Oh, that's cool.

[00:48:14] So youtube.com forward slash at SP Sheridan.

[00:48:18] Right.

[00:48:19] I love the variety of stuff you have on there.

[00:48:21] I'm excited to check it out.

[00:48:22] I love doing video.

[00:48:25] Me too.

[00:48:26] Video is so fun.

[00:48:27] Yeah.

[00:48:28] Sierra, you have a whole business with video, video, video.

[00:48:32] Why don't you tell us about your business?

[00:48:35] Well, I have a business called Send It.

[00:48:39] We're just calling it Send It right now.

[00:48:41] We'll see.

[00:48:41] Look, I started recording some content with the mic that says Send It on it.

[00:48:46] Oh, nice.

[00:48:48] You got a flag.

[00:48:49] Yeah.

[00:48:50] Yeah.

[00:48:50] I just put a little lavalier inside of the puff.

[00:48:53] It's the one that you got me, Bodie.

[00:48:55] Oh, cool.

[00:48:55] That hooks to my phone.

[00:48:56] It sounds good.

[00:48:58] So she looks like, for those not looking at it, she's got like this real professional looking mic with the mic muff and it's got the handle and it's got the mic flag and everything.

[00:49:06] But inside it's just a lavalier.

[00:49:07] Yeah.

[00:49:08] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:49:08] Look at that.

[00:49:08] It's protected.

[00:49:09] It's like a little circle.

[00:49:11] How does it sound?

[00:49:12] It sounds good.

[00:49:13] I think it sounds really good.

[00:49:14] Yeah, I'll post something on LinkedIn using this probably next week, maybe the week after.

[00:49:20] It depends how long it takes me.

[00:49:21] I need to follow you on LinkedIn.

[00:49:23] Yeah, that's what I was going to plug.

[00:49:25] Is my LinkedIn just my name?

[00:49:26] Sierra LaDuke.

[00:49:27] I make a lot of content about mindfulness.

[00:49:30] They also make it about museums.

[00:49:32] That's like what my business is all about is helping museums become media companies.

[00:49:38] We also do other stuff.

[00:49:40] We're like a normal agency.

[00:49:41] So we'll make websites or we'll help create social media strategies, usually for like impact driven organizations.

[00:49:48] So that's what Send It is.

[00:49:50] But then also in my personal brand is just stuff all about like intentional media, things I learn and want to share about.

[00:49:57] How do you spell LaDuke?

[00:49:59] L-A-D-U-K-E.

[00:50:02] L-A-D-U-K-E.

[00:50:04] Sierra LaDuke.

[00:50:05] There you are.

[00:50:06] Yeah.

[00:50:07] Cool.

[00:50:07] I'm going to go check it out.

[00:50:08] And you're going to do a review of that lavalier mic for my show for Christmas.

[00:50:13] Okay?

[00:50:14] Sure.

[00:50:14] I'm in.

[00:50:15] You just signed up.

[00:50:16] All right.

[00:50:16] I'm adding you to my list.

[00:50:18] Yeah.

[00:50:18] Bodhi got it for me for Christmas last year, right?

[00:50:20] Yeah.

[00:50:21] Yeah.

[00:50:21] I bought a set for myself.

[00:50:23] It's the Anchor M650.

[00:50:25] Cool.

[00:50:26] Yeah.

[00:50:26] It's a very nice little preview for a Christmas show.

[00:50:30] Ooh.

[00:50:31] Look at that.

[00:50:33] It's great.

[00:50:34] I love it.

[00:50:35] Well, thank you all for coming on and being good sports, both by being mean to each other

[00:50:42] during the game, but being good sports after the game and encouraging everybody's projects

[00:50:50] that are external to the show.

[00:50:54] So thank you all for coming on.

[00:50:56] I really appreciate it.

[00:50:57] And I was glad to be able to spend this pretend Thanksgiving with you.

[00:51:02] Well, thank you, Bodhi.

[00:51:03] Enjoyed it.

[00:51:04] Thank you.

[00:51:05] So fun with you all.

[00:51:08] All right.

[00:51:09] I want to thank Allison and Steve and Sierra for all coming on.

[00:51:13] Congratulations to Sierra for winning the game.

[00:51:16] I honestly didn't think she was going to be able to do it, but she did.

[00:51:20] And I had a lot of fun.

[00:51:22] And I think everybody on the call had a lot of fun.

[00:51:24] Hopefully you all also had a lot of fun.

[00:51:27] If you want to see what everybody is up to, I'll put links to everything that they mentioned

[00:51:32] in the show notes.

[00:51:34] And then if you want to email me and give some feedback on this episode, it's Bodhi, B-O-D-I-E

[00:51:40] at 918digital.com.

[00:51:42] You can also find me on X at 918digital.

[00:51:46] I hope you all enjoyed this episode.

[00:51:48] It is Thanksgiving.

[00:51:49] So even though I'm recording this early, I'm not recording it on Thanksgiving Day.

[00:51:56] But I do want to thank all of you for being part of this community.

[00:52:00] It really does mean a lot to me.

[00:52:03] I'm sure.

[00:52:04] I don't know how much it means to you, but it means a lot to me.

[00:52:08] The fact that I can speak into a microphone in the basement of my house and it goes out

[00:52:13] to so many people and I get so much love back from everyone who listens to the show,

[00:52:18] whether or not you contact me or not, I can feel your love.

[00:52:23] It really does mean a lot.

[00:52:24] So thank you so much.

[00:52:25] I hope you all have a nice Thanksgiving if you're in the U.S. and you celebrate.

[00:52:30] But yeah, I am truly thankful for all of you.

[00:52:33] So thank you so much for listening to the show and supporting in whatever way you support the

[00:52:38] show.

[00:52:38] All right, everybody, that is it for me.

[00:52:41] I will talk to you on Tuesday where we will have Rivian's Q3 2024 earnings call.
