[00:00:32] salads and still lost 50 pounds.

[00:00:35] Salads generally for most people are the easy button, right?

[00:00:38] For me that wasn't an option.

[00:00:41] I never really was a salad guy.

[00:00:42] That's just not who I am.

[00:00:43] But Noom worked for me.

[00:01:00] Hello everyone and welcome to Kilowatt, a podcast about electric vehicles, autonomous

[00:01:27] driving, renewable energy and much much more.

[00:01:30] My name is Bodhi and I am your host.

[00:01:32] And this show is a little late.

[00:01:36] And it's a little late because this was a really hard show to put together.

[00:01:40] Initially on Thursday night I'm putting my stories together and I'm like man I'm

[00:01:44] not going to have enough for a 20 minute show.

[00:01:46] This is awful.

[00:01:48] And then I waited on Friday and I kind of had the same thing.

[00:01:51] And then when I started putting the show together I was like oh no I was wrong.

[00:01:57] At one point in time I had 10 pages of notes for this show.

[00:02:01] Which typically a 20 minute show is three to five pages of notes.

[00:02:05] And I was like okay well this is way too much.

[00:02:07] So long story short Tuesday's show is almost completely written as well as today's

[00:02:13] show.

[00:02:14] Normally we talk about EV news and then we go into Tesla news.

[00:02:20] This episode it's just going to be 100% Tesla news.

[00:02:23] There was a lot in regards to Tesla news.

[00:02:27] Before we start though I do want to give a shout out to Kilowatt community member

[00:02:30] Dale Steele.

[00:02:31] And when I say community member I mean like OG community member.

[00:02:36] Like he's got the tattoos to show it.

[00:02:39] He doesn't really.

[00:02:40] I'm just kidding.

[00:02:41] Anyway Dale hosts a show on Access Sacramento on Wednesdays from 12 to 1.

[00:02:48] The first show is Climate Report followed by Making Tracks.

[00:02:53] Climate Report is a show to inform people on climate change impacts, local action opportunities

[00:03:00] there in Sacramento.

[00:03:02] And it's a half hour long so it's an easy listen.

[00:03:05] So if you're interested in that you can go to accesssacramento.org and listen.

[00:03:10] And then immediately following that show Dale has another show that is called Making

[00:03:14] Tracks.

[00:03:15] And this is again a half hour weekly show and it offers news and expert interviews

[00:03:19] and commentary on wildlife conservation and environmental challenges.

[00:03:25] Dale is actually a biologist so he knows what he's talking about.

[00:03:28] So I'm going to put links in the show notes but I would highly encourage everybody

[00:03:31] to go check it out.

[00:03:33] Again this is not an ad.

[00:03:34] Dale is just a friend.

[00:03:35] He's a really nice human being.

[00:03:37] And if you're interested in this kind of thing you should go listen to his

[00:03:40] show.

[00:03:41] All right let's go ahead and jump into our Tesla news.

[00:03:45] You can now lease a Model 3 for $299 a month.

[00:03:49] Previously it was $329 a month.

[00:03:53] This will be for the base Model 3 which is a single rear wheel drive.

[00:03:57] Haha Allison.

[00:03:59] Rear wheel drive motor.

[00:04:02] 272 miles of range on a full charge.

[00:04:07] In reality it's going to be more like 217 miles of range for everyday use because

[00:04:11] it's got 80% of that battery capacity.

[00:04:14] So that's going to be a little bit less.

[00:04:16] The base Model 3 does not qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit here in the United

[00:04:21] States.

[00:04:23] In order to get the deal you need to put $3,000 down and then you need to pay an

[00:04:27] additional $695 acquisition fee.

[00:04:31] Now when you return the car you have to pay a $395 disposition fee.

[00:04:36] So that will actually get you 10,000 miles a year in a 36 month lease.

[00:04:41] If you add everything up that equals $14,854.

[00:04:45] Now if you divide that by 36 your effective monthly cost of ownership for that vehicle

[00:04:52] is going to be $412 when you add all the fees and the down payment up.

[00:04:57] Not too bad.

[00:04:58] If you're interested in the Hyundai IONIQ 6 they also have a pretty good lease deal

[00:05:02] going right now as well.

[00:05:04] Check with your local dealer for more information on that.

[00:05:09] Tesla has leaked some details on the Model 3 Performance Ludicrous Edition.

[00:05:14] So this wasn't leaked in an email or anything like that.

[00:05:16] There are folks that were sorting through Tesla's order page source code and this

[00:05:21] is what we found.

[00:05:22] And by the way, we don't know if they're going to be using the Ludicrous badging

[00:05:27] on this vehicle or not but let's get into what they found.

[00:05:31] The new Model 3 will have or allegedly have all new adaptive dampening powered by

[00:05:37] in-house software which gives the vehicle more body control and doesn't sacrifice

[00:05:43] daily usability or comfort.

[00:05:45] So I'm guessing this is when you want to drive really fast.

[00:05:49] The latest generation driving mode integrates adaptive suspension controls and

[00:05:54] performance optimized powertrain to deliver more responsive and fun behind the wheel.

[00:06:00] It's going to have track mode version 3 which will be a new calibration for the

[00:06:06] powertrain and adaptive suspension.

[00:06:08] I'm guessing now correct me if I'm wrong here.

[00:06:11] I'm reading into this it says adaptive suspension.

[00:06:13] Is this air ride suspension?

[00:06:15] I'm not 100% sure on that.

[00:06:18] I would imagine that it is but maybe I'm wrong.

[00:06:20] Let me know.

[00:06:22] You can customize handling balance, stability controls and regenerative braking while

[00:06:27] you're in track mode.

[00:06:29] Track mode.

[00:06:30] I do not recommend normal people enable track mode.

[00:06:34] You're just going to wreck your car.

[00:06:36] Next up we have all new seat designs which are enhanced to kind of cushion your body

[00:06:42] and hold it in place.

[00:06:44] Let's see here.

[00:06:46] There's also bespoke chassis and suspension hardware which is going to be tuned to provide

[00:06:51] intuitive razor sharp response to driver inputs.

[00:06:56] Forged performance wheels, lightweight staggered wheels provide sharper turn in response,

[00:07:02] improved predictability, increasing traction out of corners and optimize for aerodynamics

[00:07:07] or optimize aerodynamics.

[00:07:10] Enhanced pedal feel and improved heat management to ensure consistent braking at all speeds

[00:07:16] and a lightweight carbon fiber decor which will be unique to the Model 3 performance.

[00:07:22] Now we don't know if any of this is true again but it sounds like this is all

[00:07:26] tailored for people who want to go super fast and if you want to go super fast

[00:07:30] by all means go super fast on a track.

[00:07:34] Don't enable any of this stuff on the regular road where you can hurt somebody else or yourself.

[00:07:39] While we're on the topic of things that Tesla might announce soon, Tesla may announce

[00:07:44] that they're going to invest three billion dollars in India next week.

[00:07:48] Elon will be visiting Indian Prime Minister Modi.

[00:07:53] Tesla and India have been talking back and forth for quite a while so I would

[00:07:58] give the likelihood of this happening.

[00:08:01] I think this is very high.

[00:08:03] I would give this a high likelihood of actually happening.

[00:08:08] We talked last episode about the Tesla accelerator pedal issue.

[00:08:13] The decorative part of the pedal is sliding up and off of the actual accelerator and

[00:08:19] that is causing the truck to accelerate because it's sliding up and off.

[00:08:23] That decorative plate is getting stuck on the floorboard and there's no good way

[00:08:28] to get it unstuck while you are driving.

[00:08:32] So if you find yourself in this situation, you can press and hold the brake pedal

[00:08:36] because the brake pedal actually overrides the accelerator.

[00:08:39] I actually tried this on the freeway.

[00:08:41] You get a lot of alarms from the car that you're actually doing this.

[00:08:46] I didn't bring it all the way to a complete stop but I went from 75 to about 50

[00:08:51] and then I chickened out because I didn't want to ruin my car.

[00:08:54] I didn't know what to do so I just chickened out.

[00:08:58] But you can also hold up on the stock to get through that neutral position

[00:09:04] and it's actually literally a neutral position as well as the neutral gear.

[00:09:08] You can just kind of hold up on the stock and wait for it to shift into neutral.

[00:09:12] I'm not sure how you would do this if your car doesn't have a stock.

[00:09:16] You would have to maybe touch on the touchscreen to get that done.

[00:09:20] I know there are folks out there who could probably help us out with that answer.

[00:09:23] Now that we have identified the problem, what is Tesla going to do about it?

[00:09:28] Well, we know that Tesla's recalling 3,878 Cybertrucks

[00:09:32] which were produced November 13th, 2023 to April 4th, 2024.

[00:09:39] The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration issued a safety report

[00:09:43] and here's a little excerpt from that explaining what's going on.

[00:09:47] If the pad on the accelerator pedal becomes trapped in the interior trim above the pedal,

[00:09:52] the performance and operation of the pedal will be affected,

[00:09:56] which may increase the risk of a collision.

[00:09:59] Note that the application of the brake pedal will cut the torque,

[00:10:03] including when both the brake and accelerator pedals are pressed

[00:10:07] and continued application of the brake will bring the vehicle to a stop

[00:10:11] as quickly as the accelerator pedal.

[00:10:14] As quickly as if the accelerator pedal...

[00:10:19] I'm going to leave this in.

[00:10:20] As quickly as the accelerator pedal was not pressed.

[00:10:24] So basically, if the accelerator is all the way down to the four

[00:10:26] and you hold the brake down, it overrides, which we talked about earlier.

[00:10:32] So we know the issue. We know what Tesla's going to do to solve it.

[00:10:35] What caused the issue?

[00:10:36] Well, last episode, I was unclear why Tesla used a lubricant on the accelerator pedal.

[00:10:43] And it turns out this lubricant was kind of like a soap

[00:10:45] and it was actually designed to help with the installation of that decorative piece over the pedal.

[00:10:52] But according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration,

[00:10:56] this was an unapproved change.

[00:11:00] And the lubricant that Tesla used, there was a residual which reduced friction or retention

[00:11:07] of that decorative piece.

[00:11:08] And since it was reduced friction over time, it kind of slid up and up and up.

[00:11:13] And for some people, it slid far enough up that this became a real issue.

[00:11:19] Now, I will say that if the accelerator is stuck down and you use the brake pedal

[00:11:24] to come to a complete stop and you let go of the brake, it's going to accelerate again.

[00:11:30] So you need to make sure when you come to a complete stop, you put the car in park.

[00:11:35] That way, you don't risk injuring yourself or someone else.

[00:11:42] As far as the timeline goes, Tesla was made aware of this issue on March 31st, 2024

[00:11:48] by a customer claim.

[00:11:50] And on April 2nd, they validated that the customer, what the customer said was true, basically.

[00:11:56] Not long after that initial claim, there was a second claim that Tesla received

[00:12:01] and they issued a voluntary recall on April 12th.

[00:12:05] And I'm pretty sure it was voluntary.

[00:12:07] I'm pretty sure I read voluntary, but now I'm doubting myself.

[00:12:10] So keep that in mind.

[00:12:12] Elon did mention on Twitter that there were no injuries or accidents because of this issue.

[00:12:17] And Tesla issued the recall because they were being cautious.

[00:12:21] Overall, I think this was a reasonable response by Tesla.

[00:12:24] Way back when I was like 18 years old, I went to a firefighter conference in Anchorage,

[00:12:31] Alaska, because I used to live in Alaska.

[00:12:34] And at that conference, I took a class on extrication.

[00:12:39] And one of the people teaching the class was an engineer in the automotive industry.

[00:12:45] And we were talking, just chatting back and forth.

[00:12:48] And again, I don't know if this is true or not, but he had told a group of us,

[00:12:53] it wasn't just me, but a group of us, that automotive companies have an acceptable

[00:13:00] number of deaths and injuries based on what happens with a car.

[00:13:04] Like if it hits a certain threshold, like I'm sure as a human being, you're like,

[00:13:09] no death is acceptable, no injury is acceptable.

[00:13:12] But as a business, they're like, well, if it hits this threshold, then we'll issue a recall.

[00:13:16] I have no idea if that was true then.

[00:13:17] I was just talking to this one person.

[00:13:19] I have no idea if that is true now.

[00:13:22] But for Tesla to get two complaints or two claims and issue a recall,

[00:13:29] I think that is a very good response, especially when Tesla has a bad reputation

[00:13:36] for unintended acceleration, whether that is on Tesla or not.

[00:13:41] In a lot of cases, it's been proven to be the customer's fault, not Tesla's fault.

[00:13:45] But whether that is on Tesla or not, the general consensus out there when you

[00:13:52] talk to people is that it's Tesla's fault.

[00:13:54] And because your uncle Eddie is not going to say, yeah, I held the accelerator down

[00:14:00] because I panicked and ran into the Beverly Hills sign the other day, which

[00:14:05] actually ended up happening.

[00:14:06] In reality, in a lot of these cases, I'm not going to say 100% of these cases,

[00:14:10] but in a lot of these cases, the fault wasn't with the vehicle.

[00:14:15] The fault was with who was driving the vehicle.

[00:14:18] Not saying that's every single time.

[00:14:20] I want to be very clear on that.

[00:14:22] There have been a lot of issues when someone thought that they had the car in

[00:14:26] reverse and they ended up accelerating into their garage or into the wall of

[00:14:31] their garage because they were actually in drive.

[00:14:35] So these kinds of things happen.

[00:17:26] And for, for as little as a dollar a month, you don't

[00:17:28] have to listen to ads.

[00:17:30] Okey doke.

[00:17:30] Let's move on to our final story.

[00:17:33] Remember when Tesla shareholders took the Tesla board of directors

[00:17:37] and Elon to court over Elon's 55 to $56 billion compensation package.

[00:17:43] If you don't know, Elon and the board were accused of breaching

[00:17:47] their duties to Tesla and wasting corporate assets and unjustly

[00:17:52] enriching Elon Musk.

[00:17:54] The lawsuit claims that the terms of the compensation package

[00:17:59] were not properly negotiated rather in what the, what the

[00:18:05] lawsuit is saying is that Elon dictated the terms of the compensation package

[00:18:09] and the board just approved it in a sham negotiation.

[00:18:13] Tesla's board, I will say as a side note here, Tesla's board of directors

[00:18:17] have been very loyal to him.

[00:18:20] And we'll talk about some of that here in just a second.

[00:18:22] In addition, the lawsuit claims that the shareholders were given misleading

[00:18:27] and incomplete disclosures and the proxy statement.

[00:18:31] Now that's what the shareholders are claiming.

[00:18:33] The defense attorneys for Tesla, Elon and the board are saying, nah,

[00:18:37] that's not true.

[00:18:39] They were actually, the pay was fairly negotiated by a compensation committee

[00:18:44] whose members were independent and contained very hard to hit

[00:18:50] performance milestones for Elon to get that money.

[00:18:54] A few months ago, a judge in Delaware, cause Delaware happens to be where

[00:18:58] Tesla is incorporated as much as they might want to say they're a Texas

[00:19:02] company. They're not, not yet anyway.

[00:19:05] A judge in Delaware ruled that Elon can't have his money.

[00:19:08] They ruled in favor of the shareholders after that ruling.

[00:19:12] Elon actually went on X and recommended that people never incorporate

[00:19:16] in Delaware. Instead, he recommended incorporating in Nevada or Texas.

[00:19:21] That is if you prefer shareholders to have the ability to decide matters

[00:19:26] for your company.

[00:19:27] What a ridiculous statement that is in just a second here.

[00:19:31] Now Tesla is asking shareholders yet again to approve Elon's compensation

[00:19:37] package at the next shareholders meeting.

[00:19:40] They're also asking them to approve a move from incorporating in Delaware

[00:19:45] to incorporating in Texas.

[00:19:49] You know, before we go too much further here, I should actually explain

[00:19:52] Elon's compensation package.

[00:19:54] It could be worth $55.8 billion over 10 years with the start of the 10

[00:19:59] years being in 2018.

[00:20:01] So it's not like he would get $55.8 billion today.

[00:20:05] As a matter of fact, he might not get $55.8 billion altogether if

[00:20:11] the package is actually approved because that's tied to the value of

[00:20:16] that package is tied to a lot of factors that I'm not sure about.

[00:20:19] I'm not really educated enough about to talk about, but I will say that

[00:20:24] prior to the judge's ruling, it was $55.8 billion, which is a huge sum of

[00:20:30] money. But now it's closer to $44.9 billion because of those factors

[00:20:35] that I just talked about that I'm not smart enough to go into any

[00:20:39] detail about.

[00:20:40] But there is a possibility that the company will be able to get

[00:20:47] that package could be significantly lowered if Tesla's stock price

[00:20:53] continues to go down and a bunch of other things happen and Elon doesn't

[00:20:57] meet certain milestones.

[00:21:00] Tesla has launched a website for shareholders to review, and it goes

[00:21:03] into all the reasons why they should approve the board's recommendations

[00:21:08] of whatever Tesla proposals.

[00:21:10] I'm going to go into those in just a second.

[00:21:12] On the actual website, it does say that Elon and Kimball Musk, Elon's

[00:21:18] brother Kimball, will abstain from voting, which I mean they should.

[00:21:23] But you know who won't be abstaining from voting?

[00:21:27] Tesla's third biggest retail shareholder, Leo Kugwann, and I'm

[00:21:32] pretty sure I'm saying his last name wrong, so we'll just say

[00:21:34] Leo from this point forward.

[00:21:37] He's the third largest retail investor behind Larry Ellison, who's

[00:21:44] the founder of Oracle and Elon Musk.

[00:21:47] So Leo has over 27 million shares and he's invested not what these

[00:21:53] shares are worth currently, but he's invested his own money,

[00:21:56] three and a half billion dollars into the company.

[00:21:59] He is a self-proclaimed Elon fanboy, but he has said that he will

[00:22:06] vote against Elon's pay package.

[00:22:08] Not only is he voting against Elon's pay package, he's also

[00:22:13] voting against Kimball Musk's reelection to the board of directors

[00:22:17] as well as Elon's friend James Murdoch, his reelection to

[00:22:21] the board of directors.

[00:22:22] Leo has said that Tesla is a family business masquerading as

[00:22:26] a public company.

[00:22:27] Remember when I said that, you know, the board is really loyal

[00:22:32] to Elon?

[00:22:32] That's because he stacked the board with people that he wanted

[00:22:35] in there that would be loyal to him.

[00:22:38] Leo is frustrated that he's unable to talk to the board

[00:22:41] about his concerns, which he has many of.

[00:22:44] Now I have opinions when it comes to shareholders having access

[00:22:48] to the board of a company or the CEO of a company.

[00:22:53] I would rightfully understand that if you owned 27 million

[00:22:57] shares of a company, when you had a concern, you'd want to

[00:23:01] bring that up to the board of the company.

[00:23:04] You would want to have those conversations with members of

[00:23:06] the board.

[00:23:08] I also happen to think that if you own one share of that

[00:23:11] company, you should have that same ability if the person

[00:23:15] who owns 27 million shares has that ability.

[00:23:18] So I don't know if Tesla is not taking this gentleman's calls

[00:23:25] because they don't want to deal with him and they don't

[00:23:28] want to listen or if they just have a policy in general

[00:23:31] that they don't talk one-on-one with individual investors

[00:23:35] in that capacity.

[00:23:36] I don't really don't know honestly, and I should mention

[00:23:40] why all of this is going on with this 56 million dollar

[00:23:43] billion dollar pay package or 44 billion dollar pay package

[00:23:46] or however it ends up being.

[00:23:50] Tesla is laying off 10% of its workforce and a lot of these

[00:23:53] people we listened on last episode did not receive the

[00:23:58] warmest and kindest layoff announcements.

[00:24:03] Many of them were just locked out of their Teams app or

[00:24:06] their badges wouldn't work or they received calls at like

[00:24:09] two o'clock in the morning messages at two o'clock in

[00:24:12] the morning saying that they are no longer needed at

[00:24:16] Tesla, which sucks.

[00:24:18] That's a terrible terrible way of doing things.

[00:24:22] I do understand a company's concern when you lay somebody

[00:24:26] off and they they go to an extreme and maybe come into

[00:24:29] work and hurt people.

[00:24:31] I do understand that that can happen.

[00:24:33] However, that doesn't mean you take the humanity out

[00:24:36] of interacting with your former employees.

[00:24:42] But I did a little bit of math.

[00:24:43] So if you took 56 billion dollars, which is Elon's

[00:24:47] compensation package and you gave that to 15,000 people,

[00:24:54] I don't know say recently former Tesla employees.

[00:24:58] Each of those people would receive three million

[00:25:01] seven hundred and thirty three thousand three hundred

[00:25:03] and thirty three dollars and 33 cents.

[00:25:06] That's that's how much 56 billion dollars is 15,000

[00:25:11] people could become millionaires off of one

[00:25:16] person's pay compensation.

[00:25:18] Now I am not a shareholder of Tesla and if you are

[00:25:21] and you want to vote for this by all means because

[00:25:23] I do believe that companies should honor the wishes

[00:25:28] of their shareholders 100%.

[00:25:31] I also believe that in matters of this kind of

[00:25:35] magnitude where some one person is going to receive

[00:25:38] an incredible amount of money or could potentially

[00:25:41] receive an incredible amount of money all of your

[00:25:43] paperwork and procedures and whatever it is that

[00:25:46] you have to do to make this happen.

[00:25:48] That all needs to be in order and a judge in

[00:25:51] Delaware decided that that wasn't the case.

[00:25:54] I'm going to be honest.

[00:25:55] There's a chance that a judge in Texas would also

[00:25:58] decide that that isn't the case as well.

[00:26:01] And there are lawyers out there who are probably

[00:26:03] screaming into the void telling me I'm wrong.

[00:26:05] And if I am let me know but it seems as if this is

[00:26:12] a reaction and I wanted to say temper tantrum,

[00:26:17] but I'm not going to say that this is a reaction

[00:26:19] to some bad news.

[00:26:21] What I would like to see test to do is regroup

[00:26:24] put together a better proposal dot their eyes

[00:26:28] cross their T's and resubmit but that that's

[00:26:31] just me along the same lines of what we just

[00:26:34] talked about this summer.

[00:26:36] We are going to get Tesla's annual shareholders

[00:26:40] meeting and we actually have the proposals that

[00:26:43] Tesla is putting forward and the proposals

[00:26:46] that stockholders are putting forward.

[00:26:47] So I just want to read through those real

[00:26:49] quick.

[00:26:49] There's not very many of them.

[00:26:51] The first one and there's a lot of legal

[00:26:53] ease in this so forgive me.

[00:26:56] This is Tesla's proposals a Tesla proposal to

[00:26:59] elect two class two directors to serve for a

[00:27:02] term of three years or until their respective

[00:27:05] successors are duly elected and qualified.

[00:27:08] I'm guessing this is the Kimball Musk and

[00:27:11] James Murdoch thing Tesla's board recommends

[00:27:14] that shareholders vote for this next up

[00:27:18] number two.

[00:27:18] We have a proposal to approve executive

[00:27:21] compensation on a non-binding advisory

[00:27:24] basis number three Tesla has a proposal to

[00:27:28] ratify the hundred percent performance

[00:27:30] based stock option award to Elon Musk that

[00:27:34] was proposed to and approved by your

[00:27:36] shareholders or excuse me stockholders in

[00:27:38] 2018.

[00:27:41] The board recommends you vote for and then

[00:27:44] finally to ratify the appointment of price

[00:27:47] Waterhouse Cooper's as the independent

[00:27:50] registered public accounting firm for

[00:27:52] Tesla and then again the board recommends

[00:27:56] that you vote for that.

[00:27:57] So four proposals by Tesla for

[00:28:01] recommendations that you vote for that's a

[00:28:05] lot of fours in there.

[00:28:06] Now that's the Tesla shot stockholder

[00:28:11] proposals.

[00:28:12] There's like seven of those.

[00:28:14] So let's start off here.

[00:28:16] The first proposal from stockholders regarding

[00:28:18] the reduction of director terms to one year

[00:28:23] if properly presented so reduce from three

[00:28:25] to one the board Tesla's board recommends

[00:28:28] that you vote against this weird a stockholder

[00:28:32] proposal regarding simple majority voting

[00:28:35] in provisions in our own governing documents

[00:28:38] if properly presented Tesla's board

[00:28:41] recommends that you vote against this a

[00:28:45] proposal regarding annual reporting on ant

[00:28:47] anti-harassment and discrimination efforts

[00:28:51] If properly presented Tesla's board recommends

[00:28:55] against that they recommend against annual

[00:28:59] reporting on anti-harassment and discrimination

[00:29:02] efforts a stockholder proposal regarding

[00:29:07] adoptions of a freedom of association and

[00:29:10] collective bargaining.

[00:29:11] This is a union one not surprisingly Tesla's

[00:29:14] board recommends against a stockholder

[00:29:17] proposal regarding reporting on effects

[00:29:21] and risks associated with electromagnetic

[00:29:24] radiation and wireless technologies.

[00:29:27] Tesla is working on a wireless charging

[00:29:29] system.

[00:29:30] So if I had to guess that's what this

[00:29:32] proposal is wanting them to look into the

[00:29:36] board recommends voting against this measure.

[00:29:41] Let's see a stockholder proposal regarding

[00:29:43] adopting targets and reporting on metrics

[00:29:45] to assess the feasibility of integrating

[00:29:48] sustainable metrics into senior executive

[00:29:51] compensation packages.

[00:29:53] I don't really know a hundred percent what

[00:29:56] that is about.

[00:29:59] So I'm not going to have anything to say

[00:30:01] on that but the board recommends against

[00:30:04] a stockholder proposal this last one regarding

[00:30:09] committing to a moratorium on sourcing

[00:30:12] materials from deep sea mining.

[00:30:16] The board recommends against so it's kind

[00:30:23] of one of those things.

[00:30:23] It's like here's our proposals from the

[00:30:26] Tesla point of view.

[00:30:28] Please vote for all of them and as far

[00:30:30] as the stockholder proposals go, please

[00:30:32] don't vote for any of them.

[00:30:33] I feel pretty confident since I've been

[00:30:36] covering Tesla started in 2016.

[00:30:42] I don't think I've ever seen Tesla recommend

[00:30:46] that someone vote for a stockholder proposal.

[00:30:51] I don't know if this is unique in the

[00:30:53] business world or if this is just done

[00:30:55] all the time.

[00:30:56] I would imagine that what the shareholders

[00:30:59] or stockholders would like to see is very

[00:31:01] different than what the actual people

[00:31:04] running the company would like to do.

[00:31:06] So it's probably more common than I know.

[00:31:09] But yeah, that is it for us today.

[00:31:11] That is our whole episode.

[00:31:13] I hope you all enjoyed it.

[00:31:15] And hopefully I wasn't too verbose.

[00:31:18] I actually went to a doctor's appointment

[00:31:19] yesterday.

[00:31:20] This is completely off track, but I went

[00:31:22] to an appointment yesterday.

[00:31:23] He wasn't a doctor.

[00:31:24] He was a nurse practitioner, but that

[00:31:25] doesn't bother me and other than

[00:31:29] introducing ourselves to one another.

[00:31:32] This guy talked for 45 minutes and then

[00:31:35] we got into an argument and I will not

[00:31:38] be seeing him anymore.

[00:31:40] I was like, man, I got an appointment

[00:31:42] at 1030 and he talked for another

[00:31:44] 10 minutes.

[00:31:44] I was like either you do your

[00:31:45] assessment and I'm going to leave

[00:31:48] or you're just not going to get paid

[00:31:49] because you didn't do your physical

[00:31:50] examination.

[00:31:51] They needed a very basic physical

[00:31:53] examination.

[00:31:54] I did not get to talk about any

[00:31:56] of the things that I wanted to talk

[00:31:57] about which included like my mom has

[00:31:59] Alzheimer's so included like keeping

[00:32:02] track of that and keep my brain healthy.

[00:32:04] And then I think I have a little bit

[00:32:05] of nerve damage from a fall that

[00:32:07] happened last fall last fall last

[00:32:10] like October September timeframe.

[00:32:12] But anyway, not even that big

[00:32:14] of a deal like I had fairly simple

[00:32:17] requests.

[00:32:18] I didn't even get a chance to

[00:32:19] talk to him about that.

[00:32:21] But anyway, now I feel like

[00:32:23] that guy is what I'm saying.

[00:32:25] I feel like that guy and if I was

[00:32:27] please feel free to send me an

[00:32:28] email.

[00:32:28] It's Bodie B O D I E at 918

[00:32:31] digital.com and let me know if

[00:32:34] I was too verbose.

[00:32:36] I basically I every time you and

[00:32:38] I get together, I hog the

[00:32:40] conversation anyway, so I get

[00:32:41] where you're coming from.

[00:32:43] If you want to follow me on

[00:32:44] Twitter or X you can find me

[00:32:47] at 918 digital.com and if

[00:32:49] you haven't already yet checked

[00:32:51] out my new podcast beyond the

[00:32:53] post with Rob Dunwood and myself.

[00:32:55] I would highly encourage you to

[00:32:57] check it out because we

[00:32:58] interviewed most recently Roger

[00:33:00] Chang of The Daily Tech News

[00:33:01] Show.

[00:33:01] He's a producer and if you're

[00:33:03] interested in creating at all

[00:33:05] Roger really let folks in behind

[00:33:08] the scenes of what goes on at

[00:33:10] a big media places and small

[00:33:12] podcasts and medium-sized

[00:33:14] podcast.

[00:33:14] He did a really great job.

[00:33:17] So I might actually attach a

[00:33:19] little part of that interview

[00:33:20] to next week's episode or our

[00:33:21] next episode, but don't

[00:33:23] worry.

[00:33:24] It's not going to impede what

[00:33:25] we do here and what we chat

[00:33:26] about.

[00:33:26] It's just I am so proud of

[00:33:29] what Rob and I've done with

[00:33:30] this show.

[00:33:31] I want to share it with as

[00:33:31] many people as possible.

[00:33:33] It's really good and this is

[00:33:35] from somebody that doesn't

[00:33:37] think I don't think most of

[00:33:38] the things like I don't think

[00:33:39] this podcast you're listening

[00:33:40] to right now is that great.

[00:33:42] So this is coming from

[00:33:43] somebody who thinks almost

[00:33:44] everything that I do is pretty

[00:33:45] much crap.

[00:33:46] So I'm really proud of it.

[00:33:48] All right, everybody.

[00:33:49] I'm going to let you go.

[00:33:50] I hope you all have a

[00:33:51] wonderful rest of your weekend
